1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

“From within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, eagerness for lustful pleasure, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these vile things come from within.” Mark7:21-23 (NLT)”

Satan’s Age-old Process of Temptation
1. Desire – Satan identifies a desire in you. 2. Doubt – Satan tries to get you to doubt what God says about sin. 3. Deception – Satan is “the father of lies”, incapable of telling the truth
4. Disobedience – We finally ACT on the THOUGHT
we’ve been toying with.

“We are tempted when we are drawn away and trapped by our own evil desires. Then our evil desires conceive and give birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Do not be deceived, my dear friends.” James 1:14-16 (TEV)

Overcoming Temptation
1. Refuse to be intimidated.
2. Recognize your pattern of temptation and be prepared for it
3. Request God’s help.
